Heritage and Arts Center
St. Louis County currently owns and operates the Duluth Union Depot. Various arts and cultural agencies are housed at the Depot. They include:
ST. LOUIS COUNTY HERITAGE & ARTS CENTER: After the depot served its last train and underwent major renovations, the Union Depot reopened in 1973 as an area cultural center. Now called the St. Louis County Heritage and Arts Center's Historic Union Depot (our nickname is still "the Depot"), the historic part of the building houses exhibits by four different museums and its theater wing functions as a studio and administrative home to five performing arts organizations. » More
LAKE SUPERIOR RAILROAD MUSEUM: The museum provides railroad exhibits, shows, and entertainment. » More
ST. LOUIS COUNTY HISTROICAL SOCIETY: State-designated history services provider for St. Louis County, the St. Louis County Historical Society has protected the history of northeastern Minnesota for more than 85 years. Since 1922, the Society has collected, preserved, and made available collections that reflect the people and cultures of our area, thereby sharing our past. » More
NORTH SHORE SCENIC RAILROAD Each summer equipment from the museum makes the transition from static display to rolling stock on our working railroad. During the season several trains a day depart the historical Union Depot for a trip through downtown Duluth, Canal Park, along the shore of the Lake Superior and deep into the majestic North woods. » More

VETERANS MEMORIAL HALL: Veterans’ Memorial Hall is a joint project of the St. Louis County Historical Society and the United States Military service veterans of northeastern Minnesota, with a mission to gather, preserve, interpret, and promote the rich and diverse human experiences of veterans’, their families, and communities through museum, archival, and educational programs. » More
