Q1 How can I provide input on the plan?
There are a number of ways to provide input by the following venues: community workshops, open houses and presentations, email, web site forms, phone, and fax. The county strives for an active participation in order to achieve a successful plan.
Q2 What is the process?
The planning process follows a general planning outline which includes these steps:
Step 1: Inventory & Analysis
Step 2: Issue & Opportunity Identification
Step 3: Visioning
Step 4: Plan Development
Step 5: Plan Implementation
Step 6: Plan Monitoring, Reassessment and Amendment
Q3 What is the schedule?
The 2009 planning schedule will follow this general outline:
Early Summer: Community Workshops & Design Charettes
Mid Summer: Plan Development
Late Summer: Community Presentations
Early Fall: Plan Finalization
Q4 How does this site and master plan relate to the Northern Lights Express and national high speed rail initiatives?
They are seperate projects but related in that the St. Louis County Union Depot will act as the terminal hub in Duluth for the proposed Northern Lights Express. The Norther Lights Express will then connect to the national high speed rail initiatives.
